Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of children's memory as eyewitnesses and also the application of child victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer, has won many prizes and grants. She has provided consulting on research and policy to numerous agencies and government departments across the world. Additionally, she provides consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of several professional associations, including that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She was director of three divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division, American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
